Mission Statement

THE GRIZZ PROJECT of Magdalena Aiding Animals, Inc, is dedicated to relieving suffering and furthering the humane treatment of animals, most specifically dogs, cats and horses, living in and around the Village of Magdalena, New Mexico.

THE GRIZZ PROJECT is a full fledged, IRS sanctioned 501 (c) (3) charitable organization. EIN: 27-2257370. Contributions to our cause is tax deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.

Since its formation in January 2010, volunteers have helped over 300 animals and families in the Magdalena and Socorro, NM area. Volunteers have built dog enclosures, provided food and water to animals in need, provided needed medications such as flea and tick formulas, as well as, holistic and herbal remedies, paid 100% veterinarian costs associated with emergency care and spay and neutering procedures. Our efforts have also included helping area residents spay and neuter feral cats. THE GRIZZ PROJECT pays for the cost of spaying and neutering and after the cat recovers in a safe environment, the cat is released and cared for by area residents.

GRIZZ volunteers have also fostered and found "forever homes" for our local unwanted cats and dogs.

An educational outreach program is currently underway and volunteers are working with the local elementary school to provide children with a teaching program entitled, "BARK", Be Aware, Responsible and Kind to animals. Several iterations of this program were presented recently to our children attending the Magdalena Public Library Summer Reading Program.
